From the Kitchen The word “authentic” is not part of the XIOS name for the sake of conversation. George and Julia Hatzidakis moved to the U.S. from their native home on the Island of Xios to share their family recipes, and their spin on traditional Greek cuisine, with our guests from across the Raleigh-Durham metropolitan area.
The recipe for every dish on our menu originated from George & Julia’s personal cookbook. George is in the kitchen early every morning, preparing each dish from scratch so that all of our guests can enjoy authentic Greek cuisine made fresh daily, on the premises. Julia began baking about the same time she learned to walk, and the things she can do with phyllo dough are too mouth watering to discuss. Julia begins each morning rolling Dolmathes, Spanakopita, Tiropita, and other classic delicacies, including her famous Baklava, which you have to try to believe. We are happy to address your dietary questions. With each meal made to order we can easily accomodate most dietary requests.
